Here's Kevin's story: Kevin's 1969 Cat now calls Bowling Green home. He did some research through the Boss 302 Registry and found that his Eliminator was the 12th built and that the previous owner resided in Louisville. How could anyone part with a beautiful feline like this. Click on pictures for better view
I wasn't looking for another classic cat, but when you see it in your local paper, it is worth a look. I took a double take when I saw the ad. 69's are my first love, but I also like the 67-70's. So I took the drive down to Franklin about a month ago. It was actually better than I thought it would be but I still didn't want to part for close to the $3,500 he was asking, but it was probably worth that. After a month of thinking and another look and drive, I decided to offer $2000, so that if he didn't take it, I would just use the money to restore the Eliminator and if he did I knew I got a pretty good deal. Well, the guy was recently unemployed and was moving back to Ohio, and he even told me he didn't want to haul the car up there, though he admitted he would miss it. So I eventually offered the 2 grand and he took it. I didn't see anything on the net for that price that was even close to this car. The body is straight, rust free (except for the piece of frame rail which isn't too bad), has a strong 289 4v automatic, and mint, although aftermarket, interior. It does have a small ding in the hood that needs repair. Another funny thing, he told me his dream was to own an Eliminator and that he saw an orange one in Bowling Green last summer (had to be mine!!!), and I didn't tell him I had one because I thought he might not bargain as well. You know, me being a Cougar lover and all. The rest is (brief) history, and I've already fixed a bunch of little things he just let go, like blown fuses, burnt out bulbs, a good cleaning, wiring the stereo (Kenwood, pioneer with amp that really rocks!!!) that he said didn't work, etc. I think by the end of the summer it will be a really nice daily driver that I plan to drive to work and use my Eliminator on weekends.
